I have decided, against my own better judgment, to make a handbag for each of my female relatives. I don’t yet have a manbag pattern so the ladies get stuff this year. Maybe next year I’ll learn how to make something for men. I enjoy making handbags so much that I don’t even really want to think about expanding my repertoire. It is a hobby, after all. (P.S. can you tell I got my camera back?)

I’ve become a habitual Trader Joe’s shopper lately. Matt and I go every Sunday to get our lunches and dinners for the week. I’ve never been good at keeping food in the house, but these days my freezer is full of delicious fish and vegetables and there are healthier items in the refrigerator and on the counter, like hummus, apples and fresh green beans. The best part of it is that it’s all so cheap.
I still get my Zazz from Stop & Shop, though.
I was covering a recent mayoral debate in Springfield. One of the comments from a candidate that got the most applause was about the desire to have a Trader Joe’s in Springfield. It makes sense. Affordable and healthy food should be accessible to all communities, especially cities.

I have been without my camera since the night of the house concert, when it unexpectedly just, well…. died. I was snapping a photo and heard a pop and then it went dead. Long story short, I just got word from Nikon that they are going to honor the warranty and repair it. So in 7-10 days it will be back and I will be complete again.
