I am thankful for . . .

1) I can’t keep up with entertainment news anymore, so I am so grateful for Best Week Ever. I had no idea Rebecca Romijn and John Stamos were splitsville! And I didn’t know this rumor about Justin Guarini and Nicole Richie getting married. OK, I didn’t even know they were together.

2) Rolling Stone Magazine for putting Uma on the cover. Bless you. What up with the first-person plural pronouns in the story, though? Am I missing something? I’m only on page 48 right now.

3) NYC for being there so I can visit you this weekend.

4) Amy, for teaching me how to knit. I practiced all last weekend until I got it right. Well, sort of right. But not totally right.

5) My weblog, translated. (plucked from my stats and referrers)

Wide Awake in America

In regards to this and this, I offer you some facts (in a quite random order):

1) I kept nudging TIRH’s knee or kicking his foot each time he drifted off.
2) I noted no drool.
3) I did not hear any snoring.
4) At no point did anyone in the room give any indication that they had noticed TIRH was falling asleep.
5) Friday nights are tough nights to stay awake (for people who have had a long, busy week).
6) Even so, 40 is apparently not the new 30.
7) TIRH had the seat on the couch closest to the window. The cool air was a factor in helping him at least stay semi-awake. 8) TIRH falls asleep during most rented movies, but almost always cops an attitude if I call him on it.
9) I took the keys away from him at the end of the night, to his dissatisfaction.
10) We were only 2 minutes away from the house, so he could have driven with no problem.
11) But, it was my car.
12) I announced to the room that TIRH must be very tired. I wanted to make sure they didn’t think it was because of their company.
13) Bex collects Pez dispensers. She went to a Pez Convention recently.

Those are all the facts I have for you today, friends.
